Thomas Rhett and his adorable wife Laura Akins are probably the cutest couple in country music. They have been best friends since they were in middle school together and graduated from the same high school - where she was Homecoming Queen and he was runner up to be Homecoming King. Rhett has written numerous songs about Akins, including his hit single "Die A Happy Man."
It was announced on Rhett's social media accounts that Akins was going to have their child a few months back. Since then, Akins has gotten quite a large belly as they anticipate the birth of their first born. What they were not overly public about was that they were in the process of adopting a baby girl from Africa.
Akins frequently works with an organization called 147 Million Orphans that gives food, faith, clothes, and education to children in impoverished parts of Africa. Through this organization, Akins and Rhett decided that they wanted to adopt a child from Africa. Just a few weeks before Akins is due, Willa Gray Akins joined their family.
In a post on Instagram, Rhett wrote, "Everyone meet Willa Gray Akins! I can't believe our daughter is finally home... We have been in this adoption process for what seems like forever and are just so filled with joy that we are all finally home together! Thank you to everyone who prayed every single day for this sweet girl. The Lord blessed us with the most amazing little girl we could have ever dreamed of and we can't wait to watch her grow up!"
Since the adoption, Willa seems to be loving life, watching a lot of Disney movies, hating tofu, and playing with their dog. She has gone on stage with Rhett a few times and just completed her first long run of shows. It seems to me that Willa Gray is making herself quite at home with her new family. It is obvious that they love her very much.
Willa is all over Rhett's and Akins' Instagram stories, so we recommend you check out the country couple's Instagram accounts for more adorable photos and videos of Willa Gray.
